The apartment, located near the top of a new high rise residential building on the Upper East Side, was created by combining two units and redesigning a kitchen and bathrooms.  Our design generally left bedrooms in place, with built-in cabinetry.  Shared spaces of the apartment were gutted and opened up to one another.   Features were combined into larger formal elements in order to increase their scale and visual impact.  Rift cut white oak flooring, trim, doors and cabinetry were used for continuity throughout.  An expanded kitchen, with dual entrances, was designed with ribbon mahogany cabinetry and stainless steel appliances and features.
