The interior of this Upper East Side townhouse had undergone multiple renovations, rendering the interior as a complex configuration of apartments and assorted detailing.  The project required its return to single family use, with an interior compatible with our client's extensive collection of Art Deco furniture and decorative objects.  Our overall approach was to provide transparency and translucency within the building with the use of steel framed windows and doors between rooms, halls and the rear yard.  A decorative central stair, elevator and related spaces were placed in the central core of floors.   Simple mahogany trim and veneered doors provided continuity of detail throughout.
